We're Traveling

We're on the road! It took us two days to get to Missouri and we had a great visit with my parents and sister. Right not we're visiting people in Columbia, MO. Tomorrow we'll be in Kansas City at Jared's parents and then we're off to Alaska. We have one fifth of the trip down! Yeah us.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Toast and Ring

Overheard from the kitchen

Corbin: "Hey guys look! My toast has a rash."

Gavin: "Mmmm."

Asher: "Uh huh."

This was a serious conversation mind you.

Today after 8 years of marriage I finally threw away my wedding ring receipt from Buchroeders Jewelers. If's official now, there's no going back. We're married for eternity. Let's have a moment of silence..........Okay people, back to work.

Good Medicine

Asher said, "I have a bad headache" which he frequently does, so we gave him some medicine.

Well, Gavin then decided that he had a headache and even though we doubted it we went ahead and gave him some too.

Immediately after he swallowed it he declared, "Whew! Sure was a bad headache I had."

Talk about some fast acting medicine! I gotta get me some of that!

LEGO World

Our kids love LEGOs and here are some of their creations. According to them they are mostly Star War ships. I am the good guy/bad guy monitor. Every other day they have to switch from being the bad guys to the good guys or visa versa.

Ode To My Bed

Ode to my bed
a place like no other.
I snuggle down deep
into my covers.

Running the fabric
between my toes;
in my pajamas
or without any clothes.

Tuck me in tight
or tuck me in loose;
I can handle emotion
and even bad news.

Always available,
sheets never made,
dents in the pillows
where I have just laid.

Take me away bed
into my dreams.
When I awake
I don't want to leave.

Morning, noon, or night
you are my retreat.
Ode to my bed
You're sure hard beat.

Our Boy Can Fly!

Here's Jared home from Airborne School! See web clip and YouTube video below for more details of the exciting experience of jumping out of an airplane.

Check Out This Gear!

This is what it looks like when an airborne paratrooper jumps with full combat equipment. Jared had to jump with all of this on twice! What a man.

Airborne School

Ordinance Officer Graduation

The graduation room. Wow I can tell you are excited.
The getting of the diploma.
Our little family at the graduation. Thank goodness Gavin and Asher were in school. As it was Corbin whined almost the whole time, "Can we go home?" "Is it time to go home?" "I want to go home!" Jared said he kept hearing it while he was sitting with the other graduates. Lovely.
The Cragwalls and us. (We adore the Cragwalls!)
Leslie and I cheesing for the camera.

Curious George

Asher came in this morning and said, "Mom, everyone is going to laugh at me because you brushed my hair like Curious George."

Thoughtful Gavin

Gavin is so thoughtful. Weeks before Mother's day he made me the above picture. I don't know how well anyone can see it but it's me and him snuggling watching a duck on t.v. All day long on Mother's Day he smiled and put his arm around me. He wanted to make sure my day was special.

Asher's New Thing

Asher's new thing is AVATAR. It's a cartoon on Nickelodeon. I actually love it. I laugh out loud it is so funny. It's about a boy who, of course, is the savior of the world. He's an airbender. This means he can manipulate air as a weapon. He must master firebending, earthbending, and waterbending before he can save the world.

Just Looked Over

So I was making lunch and doing whatever it was that I was doing and I look over and Corbin is eating his peanut butter sandwich with shades on. I just started laughing.

Then I look over and he's glued to the t.v. with this pear sticking out of his mouth, for 10 minutes. Hmmmm.

La Tolteca

Okay, so Corb and I got up and did the whole get kids ready for school jazz and then I showered. You should thank me. Then we went to the park in which I wore a sweatshirt and sweat to death. So much for the shower. I pushed Langston, Molly, Layla, and Corbin on the tireswing. Here's the rundown. A carrot is when I push the tireswing side to side, a tomato is a fast spinning motion and an eggplant is somewhere inbetween them both. Corbin came up with the carrot and tomato and I added eggplant to try to understand this vegetable concept. Still clueless. Then somehow I became a monkey and the children were bananas and when the swing would come around I would eat (a.k.a. tickle) each banana. Then I was an elephant eating peanuts and then a bear eating fish....you get the picture.

On the way home I wanted to go to La Tolteca but I knew we should save the money and go home. So being the responsible mother that I am I was driving straight home. Then I hear a little Mickey Mouse voice in the back say, "Mommy? Can we go somewhere to eat?" I said casually, "Like.....La Tolteca?" He responded with an excited cry of, "Yes! La Tolteca, La Tolteca!" Who am I to deny my precious child of La Tolteca? So we went right in and when the waiter came to see what we wanted to drink I said, "We're ready to order our food." In which we did and he looks at me and says, "And to drink?" Oh yeah, that. Our food comes and we wolf it down. Our waiter looks surprised but I'm thinking, "We're not here to socialize. He's three, I'm twenty-eight. We're here to eat." And on that note we ordered a fried ice cream to share and regretted not ordering my own.

King-size bed, Corbin in the middle slightly horizontal. Happy Sleeping everyone!
